All right, let's get this party started! If you're like us, despite being screwed over by pretty much every gay soap storyline in the past, you're still unable to resist a shiny new couple. Hope springs eternal that this gay soap couple will not end tragically. Come on, universe! You owe us one!

The awesome amelialourdes has set up a high quality YouTube channel for Will and Sonny! The HD takes time to process, so we'll likely use Anthony Langford's clips at first, and then edit watch posts with the widescreen clips when they're uploaded.

I'm really excited that both Will and Sonny are legacy characters with strong family ties to Salem. This bodes well, I think! Trying to keep expectations low, but this was an excellent start, IMO. I haven't watched Days since the late '80s/early '90s, and I have to say Justin and Adrienne are looking fantastic! Nice to see them again. I've always enjoyed them both on other soaps over the years.

So what do you think of Will and Sonny? Are you drinking the Kool-Aid like we are? So tasty!

Gosh, I haven't watched DOOL is so long that I've forgotten how all these families are connected to each other. I'm like, "How is Abigail related to Sonny? And to Will? And WhyTF did they nickname him Sonny since I lobster hate Sonny from GH?!".

The mob crap is probably why GH is in the toilet ratings wise. Guza's firing was long over-due. I just wonder if they can salvage the show after all the damage has been done.

Why does he need a nickname? Jackson is a great name! Or they could have made up a middle name for him and he could have used that. I know people who go by their middle names, actually.

I guess their logic is that Sonny's uncle Jack is coming back to town and he has a son named Jack Jr. so they figured that was too many Jack's around. But I think the audience is smart enough to tell apart a middle aged man named Jack from a teenaged kid named Jackson. Plus I think his middle name is Steven so why not use it? Steve Johnson isn't on the show anymore and even when he was everyone called him "Patch" (or at least they did the last time I watched on a regular basis. heh.)

How IS Abigail related to Sonny? She's Jack and Jennifer's daughter, right? Is Adrienne related to one of them? It's been so long my family tree knowledge is fuzzy.

Agree about the name Sonny. I actually love the name Jackson! Alas.

Adrienne is Jack's sister. When I started watching, I actually had a harder time remembering how Abigail could be Will's cousin... I had forgotten that Lucas (Will's father) turned out to be Bill Horton's son.

Granted, it's been about 20 years since I watched, so not surprising some of details have faded for me.

OK, so, but...Will AND Sonny are Abigail's cousins...so are Will and Sonny also cousins with EACH OTHER? 0_o

No. Will is Abigail's cousin on her mother's side and Sonny is her cousin on her father's side, but the two of them aren't actually related at all.

Not by blood anyway, but damn, thinking about it, they do have more family ties than just the Abigail connection. Like the fact that Will's mother Sami's step-brother, Brady, is Sonny's second cousin. Or that Sami's half-uncle is Sonny's father's cousin.

So, yeah, no blood relation, but they really do like to play around on the fringes of incest, don't they? Of course, I still think it's an improvement over Will's current relationship -- right now, he's dating his mother's sister-in-law!

Oooh thank you for those clarifications! Good grief, DAYS is more confusing than The Odyssey! And nearly as inbred as an ancient monarchy! :P I remember some DOOL couple from recent past WAS loosely blood related in some way, ew. I'm very glad that Sonny and Will are not, though!

DOOL's family trees are more confusing than ATWTs was and that's saying alot. I love the name Jackson, too. If GH can have like 5,000 "Michael's" then I see no confusion in DOOL having a Jack and a Jackson.

^ Omg I was thinking the exact same thing! Sonny Corinthos has forever ruined that name for me. So in my head I'm just going by Jackson.
