will_sonnyWill walks into the coffeehouse. Sonny is wiping down the counter.
Will: [clears throat]
Sonny: Hey. Thought you'd never make here.
Will: Yeah, sorry. Um, I wanted to make it to the opening, but my car battery died.
Sonny: Really? In your- in your new ride?
Will: Yeah. It sucked, yeah. This places looks, I mean, great. It's...
Sonny: Yeah, I mean, I've been trying to tell you that since we opened. [spins the cloth around] You know, if I find out that you've been giving business to my competitors...
Will: Put that away. I wouldn't do that.
Sonny: Alright, you better not, 'cause I've been saving something for you.
Will: Okay, what? What?
Sonny: [pulls out card] "Free coffee for life" card. Now, this is for exclusive, loyal customers only.
Will: Okay, I'll take it
Sonny: Well, I- I don't know if you actually deserve it now, you know? I'm sorry about that-
Will: I just said that I would take it. [tries to grab it]
Sonny: I think you have to earn it. No you have to earn it

Sonny: You have to ...
Lucas walks in.

Will: Come on.
They seperate.
Sonny: You know, actually, if you want it that badly, you can have it. [gives Will the card]
Will: What?
Sonny: I'm working. I shouldn't be messing around.
Will: Come on, Sonny, I-
Sonny: No, it's, uh- Hey, Mr. Horton.
Lucas: Hey, Sonny. How you doing? [shakes hand]
Sonny: Good, how are you?
Lucas: I'm good. Good to see you.
Will: [shakes hand] What's up, Dad?
Lucas: Excellent shake. Sonny, the place looks great. You should be proud of what you've accomplished.
Sonny: Oh, thank you. Yeah, I, Um...So can I get you anything- coffee?
Will: Yeah, coffee. I got a "free coffee for life" card.
Lucas: Oh, look at that good for you. No, no, I'm good. Thank you.
Sonny: Well, I'm gonna get back to work. You guys enjoy yourself.
Will: Okay, see you.
Sonny goes back to work
Lucas: Can I talk to you for a sec?
Will: Yeah, sure.
Lucas: Come on, let's sit down over here. It might be a little awkward.
Will: Okay.
They sit down at table.
Lucas: I just- you know, when I walked in, I noticed you and sonny were fooling around like that, and...
Will: Yeah?
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, and I know there's nothing to it, I know it didn't mean anything, but... You know, if someone else saw what I saw, they might get the wrong Idea.
Will: About what?
Lucas: About you. Come on, Will.

Will: Why would people get the wrong idea about me?
Lucas: You know, I'm just going off what I saw when I walked in.
Will: Which was nothing.
Lucas: [sighs] I just need you to know that there are some people out there who would jump to the wrong conclusions. You know, and I- I know your straight. You know, I know that, but... It's just something about the way Sonny was looking at you.
Will: [laughs] Really, Dad? Come on.
Lucas: Wh- I'm not saying this to upset you. I'm really not.
Will: I'm not. I just think that you're overreacting. Sonny's not an axe murderer, Dad. He's just gay, and he's a great guy.
Kate walks in.
Lucas: Right, right. You know what? I have no problem with Sonny or anyone else who's gay.
Will: Oh. Wow, that's big of you.
Lucas: I'm- I'm just saying that... You know, if- if you do choose to- to make it public, you know, you're going to run the risk of being treated like a second-class citizen by a lot of people
Will: Wow. You sound exactly like Grandpa Roman.
Lucas: Oh, well, then I'll stop. I'll stop right there. I don't want to sound like Grandpa Roman. I mean, it's 2012. We probably shouldn't be having this conversation anyway. It's just, I care about you, you know, and I don't want to see you get hurt at all.
Kate comes over.
Kate: Hey, there, you two. What's going on.
Lucas: Hey, Mom.
Will: Grandma, what's up? Um, excuse me for a moment. I'm gonna to go get myself a drink.
Lucas: Are you sure about that? Alright.
Kate sits down.
Kate: Is he all right?
Lucas: Yeah, yeah, he's fine.
Kate: Okay. so tell me, do you have your phone on you?
Lucas: Always have my phone on me. Why?
Kate: Well, do me a favour- if it rings don't answer it.
Lucas: And I do that why?
Kate: Because there's a chance that it's going to be Sami calling you in tizzy- that's all/
They talk about the mole stuff. Lucas get's mad at Kate.
Lucas: You know what? Tell Will I had to go, 'cause of you.

Kate goes over to Will at the other side of the coffee house.
Kate: Is this seat taken?
Will: No. Go ahead.
Kate: Thanks.
Will: Where did Dad go?
Kate: Oh, something came up that he thought was important enough to warrant his immediate attention.
Will: Mm.
Kate: Yeah, and I think he'll be back as soon as he finds out it's a waste of time. But I don't think you're too upset that he left when he did.
Will: Why?
Kate: Some of the things he was saying about Sonny... Were kind of hitting close to home, weren't they?

Will: Well, in the sense that, um, I just didn't like the things that Dad was saying about Sonny- that's all.
Kate: Yeah, I mean, because he was talking about Sonny, right?
Will: Yeah.
Kate: The thing is, I think that he could just have easily been talking about you. I mean, am I wrong here? And that's what made you so uncomfortable.
Will shakes his head.
Kate: Will... Don't worry. Your secret's safe with me.
