Be advised that Days isn't on Thursday or Friday this week due to Wimbledon. Since I love tennis, this is A-ok with me.
There aren't many spoilers out there right now for Will and Sonny, but I did find a couple of mentions. Really very vague. I've also included the general down the road spoilers for the show, so be advised if you're a spoiler-phobe.

For Monday, June 27:
Will and Gabi's graduation is celebrated at the pub. [Yay! Live watch!]
Spoilers for down the road:
One teen romance takes a surprising turn [:D :D :D]
One unhappy couple divorces
Jack comes back to Salem [YAY!!!]
John and Marlena return to Salem [!!!!]
Both Vivian and Carly say goodbye to Salem [But who will bury people alive? :((((]
Taylor, Chloe, and Quinn also bid Salem adieu [I have no idea who these people are, so that's okay]
The fall marks a season of change in Salem [Such as Will coming out, perhaps? :D]

Two questions. 1. Was that Judy Evans in those scenes with Wally Kurth? If so, wow! She got really skinny.
And 2. Are they Sonny's parents? He didn't ever refer to them as anything...

Also, yes, that was Judy Evans, and I agree, she's looking good! She's definitely lost weight since her stint on ATWT a couple of years ago!
She and Wally Kurth are Adrienne and Justin, and they're Sonny's parents.

I remember Judi Evans from Another World. She looks like a completely different person! And she does look even better than when she was on ATWT (in that horrible role, poor thing).
After watching this one clip, I already decided that I think I am more interested in Sonny than Will. So I guess I should expect Sonny to be the one that gets flattened by a train in a few months...*groan*

I like that Sonny is supposed to be already out to his parents, and that it seems like he's a few years older (I think he's supposed to be out of college, whereas Will is just graduating high school), with more life experience, and more confidence in just knowing who he is. But I'm also a sucker for a coming out story, so I'm very excited to see just how Will handles it, how long it takes him to admit that, as much as he may genuinely love his girlfriend, she doesn't make him happy in his pants the way a certain new boy in town does. :D

You decide: Emmy winner and soap icon Crystal Chappell shocked myriad fans on Wednesday when she tweeted via her hubby’s Twitter account that DAYS is not renewing her contract, which expires in August. Also, TV Guide announced that her co-star, Louise Sorel has also been axed.
In a no-holds-barred interview with Michael Logan, Sorel surprised many by leaking that Deidre Hall and Drake Hogestyn are returning to town. Yep, apparently hell froze over yesterday. Calls to Hall to confirm the news were not returned by press time.
Meanwhile, in a Soap Opera Digest cover story, “genius” executive producer Ken Corday blames himself for allowing Dena Higley’s head-writing reign of terror to continue as long as it did, which is why he hired new co-head scribes, Passions/DAYS alums Marlene McPherson and Darrell Ray Thomas Jr. in the alleged scabber’s stead.
But don’t expect any Passions influences in Salem. (Whew!) Corday explains that his new co-head writers were penning James E. Reilly’s vision on Passions and not their own. The new scribes will return DAYS to its former glory, he adds, and are well versed in Salem’s history since they wrote for the NBC serial in the past.
As for future story, Corday goes on to note that Will’s upcoming gay arc will still continue as planned, but the show had to rewrite three weeks of story to slow down Will’s coming out.
According to insiders, expect more actors to get their walking papers, while more past faves return.
I'm fine with slowing it down. This is from June 3, so I presume we're at the tail end of the slowdown.
It sounds like the recently axed head writer was terrible.
Question: Is John Roman these days, or was he proven to not be Roman? I think they went back and forth on that a few times over the years.

Date: 2011-06-26 03:20 am (UTC)Right now, EJ and Stefano think the real Rafe is dead, but actually he got away from them and now he and Sami have "the creature" (as they like to call Fake Rafe) locked up in a storage closet somewhere, while Rafe pretends to be Fake Rafe and is trying to get proof that EJ and Stefano were behind it all.
You've really got to love how ridiculous the storylines get on soap operas!

The last one made me facepalm. I hope that they're not doing to drag this out all summer as a back story. If they drag it out as a main one, I don't mind so much. But it was bad enough waiting for Luresdays only to get 5 minutes for the week - if that.

Then I turned to my unread Soap Digests and read an interview with Ken Corday about how the show's going to take a new direction in general. Now, I'm willing to let myself get sucked into the show again.
Anyway, I look forward to watching Will and Sonny (and Days in general). :)
