July 27, 2011: "You just don't think you know anyone else who's gay."

Today we got more of T being a jackass and Will, Sonny, Gabi, & Kinsey being awesome.

(We had our live watch post on will_sonny today, because of all the problems we're having with LJ. We hope LJ gets things sorted out so we don't have to do that kind of thing too often, but it's nice to know we have a back-up plan in for live watches if/when LJ goes down again!)

LOVE THIS EPISODE. LOVED IT. Loved Will, Loved Gabi (how did that happen?), LOVED SONNY, LOVED KINSEY. TAD IS SCARING ME. I have a feeling something bad is going to happen to Sonny.

Also, nice little anvil about Will during Sonny's conversation with Kinsey. :D

I'm going to sound so critical here (I'm sorry!!), but...

Is it just me, or does Sonny smile all the time? After almost every line, even when he was mad last episode. It was really nice to see him upset at the end of this clip. It made him more human.

Sonny also seems like he can do no wrong, and it makes him sound a little repetitive and PSA-y. The storyline is okay so far, but I can't wait until he's more established as a character, and has a line that doesn't have to do with him being gay. And I can't wait until Freddie is more comfortable playing Sonny. Right now, some of his lines feel weird, like Freddie is just reciting them but doesn't get them, and it makes it feel stilted and like a commercial. Hopefully soon, the writers will start to learn how Freddie plays the part and turn Sonny into Freddie's character, rather than one in their heads, and his lines will fit better. If that makes any sense at all.

Will kept putting his hands on Tad's shoulders. I thought that was weird.

Overall I liked the episode. Good messages. I liked Gabi too and that never happens.

Trying not to get sucked back into another soap (still a little tender over LuRe) but damn these boys are making it really really hard.

Jackson (I refuse to call him Sonny yuck!) is so likeable, maybe a little one dimensional at the moment but still very likeable. Nice to see a confident proud young gay character in soapland, though me thinks there is alot more to him. Well I'm crossing my fingers anyways.

And I loved WIll standing up to that douche Tad, Will seems like a sweet guy. Can't wait for more one on one interaction between him and Jackson.

I like Gabi but Kinsey is really annoying.

I'm looking forward to getting over this initial hurdle that soap writers think their fans always need to hear (by way of a hugely homophobic jerk, we can all be spoon-fed the message that it's okay to be gay) and move onto some actual characterization for Sonny and some deeper interactions with Will.

With all her talk of how she wants to be famous, Kinsey is starting to remind me of one of the less "famous" Kardashian sisters. Not a good thing, btw.
