I think talking about your mother while putting suntan lotion on your girlfriend's back is a pretty good sign that Will isn't exactly that into his girlfriend.

I loooved this episode! So many new storylines are beginning. Sonny was adorably awkward in his interactions with those nutty teens. Still a little too smiley and perfect, but obviously, it's still early. :P

I'm still not clear on all of the names, though, like that chick who is drooling all over Sonny, and that dude who wanted a picture with him. It's been a few years for me; who ARE these people? Ha.

Oh, and I cheered when Sonny came out to Victor. Though I think everyone's being a little weird about it. "OMG it's such a deep dark secret!!!" What is this, 1952?

The girl is Kinsey and the guy is Tad (frequently called "T"). They're not really major characters -- I don't think I've ever seen them except as friends of Will and Gabi.

I think everyone's being a little weird about it.

Well, Victor is traditionally rather conservative... and he's not above doing things like, say, not approving of Justin's choice of wife and deciding the best way to deal with is was drugging Justin so he'd be impotent and not be able to have children with her. So, yeah, if they don't think Victor will be supportive, I can understand them being worried about how he'll react!

I don't know when you last saw him, but the storyline I'm talking about had to be at least 20 years ago. I think he's actually mellowed since then. :D

Justin is Sonny's father. And Adrienne (Sonny's mother) was the wife Victor disapproved of (IIRC, it was because she came from a lower class family).

I just started "watching" this community after I saw a posting in the Lure community...and i just actually caught an episode of Days with Sonny and Will.

Sonny is SO adorable!!!!!! I absolutely love him already.

So is Will. <3 I used to watch Days so I know who everybody is (well mostly)...

Anyways just wanted to say hellllllo! and I hope to god these writers don't make this a trainwreck as well. (Bad pun)

The writers writing the current storyline have all been canned, we won't get to see the new writers' story for another couple of months. But I think it's safe to say that pretty much everyone here shares your hope that there won't be any train wrecks on this show!

Okay, this episode confirms it - Kinsey is possibly my favorite character after the boys. She gets all the best lines and never fails to crack me up. I cant' wait for her to really go after Sonny, and for him to announce that he's gay.

It was very nice to see the boys actually occupy the same space for once, lol.

Also, I'm very glad that Sonny told Victor he's gay (though after reading the comments above, I'm a little afraid for him, lol).

Sonny is just so very charming. Wrapping Victor in a bear hug is not something a lot of people in Salem would do so I give him mad props for that. Can't wait for their conversation tomorrow.

Thoughts:

1. I really, really enjoy how slowly they're lauching this. Will and Sonny weren't making obvious eyes at each other, and if I didn't know Will was going to be gay, I don't think I'd guess yet. It all feels surprisingly organic for a soap.

2. Looooove Sonny tackle hugging Uncle Victor and not letting him go. Awesome.

3. Love that the kids were all sitting on a rainbow towel. :D

4. Shirtlessness and tanktopness were v.v. enjoyable, okay.

Very excited that things are slowly getting underway!

Getting a late start but catching up! I probably won't be able to do livewatches for awhile, but loving following them.

I never really watched DOOL, so the only character I remember at ALL is Sami.

First impression for today: I know it's not fair to make comparisons, but the big dumb puppy dog straight friend is not half as cute as Casey.

But Sonny and Will are both cute, and Sonny has the most adorable smile.

I'm almost never going to be able to actually do the live watches, either, Yeah, they've got this stupid policy at work where they actually expect me to, you know, WORK, and not watch soap operas. So, I put up the live watch posts, and follow the conversation, (at least for now, when there aren't that many comments; if we ever get to the point where there are 20+ pages of comments, like we used to get on the LuRe live watches, I may not be able to do that anymore!), but I can't actually watch the show when it airs unless for some reason I'm not at work.

ITA that Tad is not nearly as cute as Casey. But on the plus side, I think Kinsey (the female friend who thinks Sonny is sex on a stick) is WAAAAAAAAY more entertaining than Alison was. :D
