Langford on Soaps at AfterElton.com gave some plot points on upcoming issues with Will’s coming out.

Deidre Hall, who plays Marlena, tells Soap Opera Digest that Will coming out to his grandmother is just the beginning of months of dramatic story.

“Will and Marlena continue to have scenes that are fascinating,” said Hall. “Their relationship deepens and becomes richer by the day. There is so much coming up. It’s the most spectacular three months I’ve seen in ages. Life goes on after Will’s revelation.”

After all, Will still has to come out to his family and friends. While most of them, such as Will’s father Lucas, are going to take the news okay and be nothing but supportive, his mother Sami is not ready to march in the Salem Pride Parade with her son. At first Sami flees from the room when Will tells her, unable to deal with what’s she’s hearing. And when it does sink in, Sami blames herself and wonders what she did to make Will turn out gay. And Sami being Sami will want to ‘fix’ things. Uh-oh! And there’s talk that Sami won’t be the only family member not happy with Will’s sexual orientation.

I hope the new writer will change the storyline. It should be a story about Will and Will/Sonny. It is not a story about Marlena and Will. I don't find the slow and boring dynamic between Will and Marlena is that interesting. It is good we can see couple of moments between them. But now it gets long and less exciting.

I think, later on, the story will become about Will and Sonny. I like the scenes with Marlena during this transition period as he adjusts to the truth about himself. They so cute! :D

It's good that Will isn't rushing into Sonny's arms at the moment mainly because it wouldn't be very realistic. Friendships developing into something deeper takes time. I'm personally glad that the show is taking its time with Will's coming out :)

I agree!! The Will and Marlena scenes are just so incredibly important. Will has to accept who he is and be comfortable in his own skin before we can even hope to have Will/Sonny. For now, it's far too early for that! I like that the writers recognize this and aren't hurrying Will (even though yes, I would love it if they did!)

Chandler and Deidra have more on-screen chemestry than I've ever seen anywhere. It's beautiful and brilliant. Glad it's working so well.

ITA! Also, considering how loved Marlena is as a character, it's important to have her play a major part in this storyline. It might help sway some viewers who might be resistant to teh gay.

I'm actually in no hurry for Will and Sonny to hook up. I'm loving this coming-out story!
